NA3HL announces Bauer Hockey Stars of the Week

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending October 31, 2021. The Divisional Stars of the Week is an award given each week of the regular season to the top performing players in each of the five divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

 

Central Division Star of the Week: Carter Watters, Forward, Oregon Tradesmen

Although he played in just one game last week, Oregon Tradesmen forward Carter Watters, 19, made the most of the opportunity. The 6’0/190 lbs. native of Sun Prairie, WI, had a hat-trick and two assists for a five-point night in a 9-1 home win over the Milwaukee Power on Saturday. Watters is 2nd in team scoring so far this season with 17 points 13 games played.

2nd Star: Adam Johnson, F, Rochester Grizzlies

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Chris Kondiles, F, Peoria Mustangs – Perry Lagatuz, F, Peoria Mustangs – TJ Norris, F, Rochester Grizzlies

 

East Division Star of the Week: Tyler Ramm, Forward, Northeast Generals

Ramm, 18, had big weekend as the Generals stayed perfect on the season with a weekend sweep of the Long Beach Sharks to widen their lead in the East Division. The 6’1/195 lbs. native of Westborough, MA, had three goals and an assist for four points in the two wins, which included two goals in a 4-2 win on Saturday and a goal and an assist in a 2-0 win on Sunday. For the season, Ramm has eight points in 10 games played.

2nd Star: Will Comrie, F, Bay State Bobcats

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Dale Pfannenstein, Goaltender, Butte Cobras

Butte goalie Dale Pfannenstein, 19, was a rock in goal this past weekend in two wins for the Cobras. The 6’3/190 lbs. native of Osseo, MN, stopped 101 of a possible 106 shots in back-to-back wins over Great Falls and Bozeman. On Saturday, Pfannenstein made 43 saves in a 4-2 win over the Americans and on Sunday he made a season-high 58 saves in a 7-3 win over the Icedogs. The wins were his first two of the 2021-22 season.

2nd Star: Taber Gutschick, D, Helena Bighorns

South Division Star of the Week: Noah Henslee, Forward, Oklahoma City Ice Hawks

Oklahoma City forward Noah Henslee, 20, helped his team win their first two games of the season as the Ice Hawks took two of three games in a road series in El Paso. The 6’1/195 lbs. native of Oklahoma City, OK, had eight points (4 goals, 4 assists) in the three games. On Thursday, he had a goal and an assist in a 5-3 loss. On Friday, he had another goal and assist in a 5-2 win. On Saturday, he had two goals, including the game-winner, and added two assists in a 7-3 win. For the season, Henslee leads the Ice Hawks in scoring with 18 points in nine games played.

West Division Star of the Week: Matthew Smith, Goaltender, Granite City Lumberjacks

Granite City goaltender Matthew Smith, 19, stayed perfect on the 2021-22 season as he posted back-to-back road wins in a Lumberjacks series sweep against their rival, Mason City Toros. The 5’11/165 lbs. native of Fenton, MO, moved his NA3HL record to 4-0 on the season as he stopped 35 of 38 shots in the two wins, which included 18 saves in a 5-2 win on Friday and 17 wins in a 2-1 overtime win on Saturday. Smith has allowed just five goals in his four NA3HL starts so far during the 2021-22 season.
