Danbury tops New Jersey in offensive game on Wednesday
Danbury 8 @ New Jersey 6 – Danbury got two goals apiece from Reese Tamburo and Ivan Kovalev in an 8-6 win over the Titans on Wednesday.
Each team led throughout the see-saw game, which saw 14 goals on a combined 83 shots. Danbury took an early lead with goals from Kovalev and Tamburo. The Titans responded with four straight goals from Samuel Senft, Roland Ponechal, Alex Blaszak, and Jake Spangler to take a 4-2 lead.
Danbury stormed back in the 2nd period with three straight goals from Kovalev, Tamburo, and Nikita Kovalev to take a 5-4 lead.
The Titans would again regain the lead with a pair of goals from Teito Ishigaki to take a 6-5 lead midway through the 3rd period.
Late in the 3rd period, Danbury would add three consecutive goals to secure the win, which came from Seth Beagle, Elijah Devereaux, and Nick Rogers.
Liam McGibbon made 8 saves and Lorenzo Rossi made 29 saves in the win, while Donovan Alfama made 32 saves in the loss.
