Brahmas, Generals punch ticket to Playoffs

Tyler Ramm helped the Northeast Generals clinch a playoff spot in the East Division with a 5-1 win on Sunday.

Louisiana 1 @ TX Brahmas 6 – The Brahmas officially clinched a spot in the Fraser Cup Playoffs thanks to a 6-1 win, which completed a three-game weekend sweep of the Drillers. Michael Imala had two goals for the Brahmas, including the opening goal just :14 seconds into the game. Micah Maldonado and Benjamin Mondou also scored in the 1st period to make it 3-0. The Drillers made it 3-1 late in the 2nd period with a goal from Cody Compton. The Brahmas answered with two goals later in the period from Ethan Kochanny and Imala. Blake Rothstein added a goal in the 3rd period. Brandon Shantz made 27 saves in the win, while Brandon Keeney made 25 saves in the loss.

Long Beach 1 @ Northeast 5 – The Generals cliched the first playoff spot in the East Division and ran their winning streak to six in a row as they beat the Sharks on Sunday, 5-1. Tyler Ramm had two goals and two assists in the win. Ramm opened the scoring in the 1st period along with a goal from Samuel Lamphear. Caiden Hess scored early in the 2nd period to make it 3-0. Long Beach got on the board later in the 2nd period with their lone goal from Logan Plante. In the 3rd period, Ramm added another goal and Matthew Nuzzolilo also scored. Mason Joseph made 18 saves in the win, while Greyson Skirpan made 47 saves in the loss.

Austin 3 @ Atlanta 10 – Carson Holliday and Aidan Bepko each had a hat-trick and an assist as the Capitals completed a three-game sweep of the Ice Bats thanks to a 10-3 win on Sunday. The Capitals scored three times in the 1st period, including goals from Bepko, Holliday, and Chase Wilhelm. The Capitals put the game away with four more goals in the 2nd period, including the second of the game for both Bepko and Holliday, along with others from Kaleb Miller and Anthony O’Neal. In the 3rd period, Bepko and Holliday completed their hat-tricks to go along with a goal from Nick Mumford. The Ice Bats goals came from Maddox Hoff, Mercer Twomey, and Jaylen Mendez. Hudgel Selk made 32 saves in the win, while Trace Wiles made 38 saves in the loss.

Great Falls 5 @ Bozeman 3 – Silas Hughes scored twice to lead the Americans to a 5-3 road win in Bozeman on Sunday. The Americans jumped out to a 3-0 lead with goals from Micah Serino, Blake Nerney, and Hughes. Bozeman came back in the 2nd and 3rd period with a pair of goals from Clayton Brown and another from Luke Martmark, but more Americans goals from Hughes and Thomas Gazich secured the 5-3 win. Will Simpson made 24 saves in the win, while Cameron Milewski made 29 saves in the loss.

El Paso 10 @ Mid Cities 3 – The Rhinos won their 8th straight game in convincing fashion as they completed a weekend road sweep of the Stars with a 10-3 win. Caden Butler had a hat-trick and an assist in the win. Jaxon Penner and Riley Hunt-Bahn scored in the 1st period to give the Rhinos a 2-0 lead. Noah Easterson, Dylan Thompson, Kaiden Hafele, and Matthew Gross scored in the 2nd period. Butler scored all three goals in the 3rd period to go along with a goal from Dani Ceullar. The Stars got goals from Easton Walters, Ilnur Madiarov, and Dante Petrini in the loss. Camden Pendleton made 30 saves in the win, while Adler Hoagland took the loss with 24 saves.
