NA3HL announces Bauer Hockey Stars of the Week

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending January 23, 2022. The Divisional Stars of the Week is an award given each week of the regular season to the top performing players in each of the five divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches. 

 

Central Division Star of the Week: Jared Wisely, Defenseman, Peoria Mustangs

Peoria Mustangs defenseman Jared Wisely had a huge weekend earning 9 points in two games. In the Mustangs weekend sweep over the Milwaukee Power, Wisely found the back of the net and added three assists in a 5-1 win on Friday. In the following night’s game, the Chillicothe, IL native scored twice and added 3 assists in the Mustangs 9-2 win. This season, Wisely has appeared in 33 games and has recorded 8 goals and 31 assists for 39 points. 

2nd Star: Kyle Bauer, F, Rochester Grizzlies

East Division Star of the Week: Nate Mastrony, Forward, Bay State Bobcats

Bay State Bobcats forward Nate Mastrony totalled 8 points in the two games he played in over the weekend. In the Bobcats 7-3 win against the New Jersey Titans on Thursday, Mastrony scored a hat-trick and added three assists for 6 points on the night. The Bobcats defeated the Norwich Sea Captains in overtime on Saturday where Mastrony handed out an assist in the second period for a 2-1 lead and then assisted in the overtime game-winning goal. The Trumbull, CT native has played in 19 games this season and has recorded 18 points (7G, 11A).

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Thomas Gazich, Forward, Great Falls Americans

Great Falls Americans forward Thomas Gazich recorded 7 points in three games to earn the Frontier Division Star of the Week. In Friday’s 6-4 win against the Badlands Sabres, Gazich found the back of the net twice. In Saturday's game two against the Sabres, Gazich netted two goals and added two assists in the Americans 7-3 win. In the Americans third game in three days, Gazich added a goal in a 5-3 victory over the Bozeman Icedogs. This season, Gazich has played in 29 games totalling 37 points (20G, 17A) on the year. 

2nd Star: Liam Bland, F, Helena Bighorns

South Division Star of the Week: Blake Rothstein, Forward, Texas Brahmas

Texas Brahmas forward Blake Rothestein earned this weekend's South Division Star of the Week adding 9 goals and 2 assists for 11 points in 4 games. The Massapequa, NY native scored a hat-trick in a 9-1 final over the Louisiana Drillers on Thursday. On the following night, Rothstein lit the lamp four times and added an assist in the Brahmas 6-4 win over the Drillers. Rothstein scored a goal in the Brahams Saturday overtime defeat of the Dillers, 4-3. In the final showing of the weekend, and in the fourth consecutive game against the Drillers, Rothstein added a goal and an assist in the Bahamas win, 6-1. This season, Blake has played in 7 games and has totalled 13 points (9G, 4A) with a point per game average of 1.86. 

2nd Star: Anthony O’Neal, F, Atlanta Capitals

West Division Star of the Week: Alex Heidenreich, Forward, Alexandria Blizzard

Alexandria Blizzard forward Alex Heidenreich totalled 9 points in the two games he appeared in over the week. The Blizzard took down the Minnesota Loons on Wednesday in a 13-0 final, where Heidenreich added five points with a goal and four assists. On Saturday against the New Ulm Steel, Heidenreich scored four goals in a 5-2 win for the Blizzard. The Ramsey, MN native has played in 32 games this season and has totalled 23 points (11G, 12A). 

2nd Star: Nick Richert, F, Granite City Lumberjacks
