NA3HL announces monthly awards for February

March 4, 2022

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) has announced its monthly player awards for the month of February. The Forward of the Month is Brett Reed of the Granite City Lumberjacks.  The Defenseman of the Month is Eddie Mulligan of the Northeast Generals. The Goaltender of the Month is Eric Buchholz of the Helena Bighorns. Only players who are nominated by their respective teams are considered for the NA3HL monthly awards.

 

Bauer Hockey NA3HL Forward of the Month: Brett Reed, Granite City Lumberjacks

Granite City forward Brett Reed was on fire in the month of February appearing in 10 games and combining for 23 points. The Lumberjacks forward added 11 goals and 12 assists while combining a +24 rating in those 10 February games. The Crosslake, MN native was also rostered in the NA3HL Top Prospects game where he recorded a goal in 2 games. Reed leads the Lumberjacks in scoring with 51 points (26G, 25A).

Bauer Hockey NA3HL Defenseman of the Month: Eddie Mulligan, Northeast Generals

Northeast Generals defenseman Eddie Mulligan was outstanding in the month of February. In the 11 games he appeared in, Mulligan totalled 17 points from the blue-line. Mulligan, who was named for the first time as the East Division Star of the Week on February 27th, added 3 goals and 14 assists for his 17 points while maintaining a +22 rating. Mulligan, a Lincoln, RI native, is ranked fifth in scoring with the Generals this year with 46 points (6G, 40A) in 42 games played.

NA3HL Goaltender of the Month: Eric Buchholz, Helena Bighorns

Helena Bighorns goaltender Eric Buchholz was lights out between the pipes in the month of February with a 6-0 record. In his six showings in the month, Buchholz recorded a 2.15 GAA and a .943 SV% stopping 217 of the 230 shots he faced in February. This season Colorado Springs, CO native holds a 24-2 record with 2 shutouts plus a 2.02 GAA and .939 SV%.
