The Northeast Generals, proud members of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL), are proud to announce that Top Prospects forward Payton Felix has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Manhattanville College.

Felix, 20, will join the Valiants program during the upcoming 2022-23 season after an incredible career with the Generals.

In 2019-20, his first with the Generals organization, Payton was a leader for the 18U Generals in the NAPHL.  He tallied 13 goals and 16 assists for 29 points in 32 games.  The following year in 2020-21, he joined the NA3HL Generals full time and put up great numbers as well, 21 goals, 30 assists for 51 points in 40 games, helping lead the Generals to their first ever Fraser Cup Appearance.

This past season in 2021-22, Payton helped the NA3HL Generals reach new heights.  Winning the regular season crown awarded to the team with the best record in the league (45-2) and advancing to their second straight Fraser Cup.

This time the Generals were more prepared.  In pool play the Generals went 2-0 beating the Rochester Grizzlies (the eventual champion) and the Gillette Wild.  They advanced to the Semi-finals where they played and lost to Granite City 4-3.  The remarkable season was helped by Felix who in 41 regular season games had 22 goals, 23 assists for 45 points.  In addition Payton added a staggering 6 short handed goals and 5 game winning goals.  He proved to be a true catalyst on the best team in program history.  Felix also added 5 points in the playoffs.

Felix was also selected to and played in the 2022 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament in Pittsburgh, PA.

“Payton defines what we are looking for in players.  Guys that give 100% in everything they do.  On the ice, off the ice, in the gym, everything.  He was always prepared to battle with his team and showed the younger players what it takes to have success at the junior hockey level.  He made a huge impact on our program not just when he was here but for the future as well.  The bar has been raised by players like Payton,” said Generals Head Coach Darryl Locke.

GM Bryan Erikson added, “Payton is a great kid that went through the ladder of development.  He was a great 18U player, drafted twice in the NAHL but understood what he needed to do to be successful at the NA3HL level.  He is a great player and person.  We are incredibly proud of Payton and look forward to his next Chapter with Manhattanville.”
