NA3HL announces Bauer Hockey Stars of the Week

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending October 30, 2022. The Divisional Stars of the Week is an award given each week of the regular season to the top performing players in each of the five divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches. 

 

Central Division Star of the Week: Amir Velikhanov, Defense, Oregon Tradesmen

Oregon Tradesmen defender Amir Velikhanov assisted in the Tradesmen weekend sweep over the Wausau Cyclones after combining for 4 points in two games. The Moscow, Russia native handed out 3 assists in one game and followed up with a goal in the second. Velikhanov has appeared in 9 games this season and has recorded 1 goal and 5 assists. 

2nd Star: Tristan Trudel, F, Peoria Mustangs

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Kaleb Bents, G, Rochester Grizzlies – Ethan Chesney, F, Peoria Mustangs – Christian Tavare, F, Oregon Tradesmen – Ben Tschida, F, Rochester Grizzlies


East Division Star of the Week: McCarthy Reed, Defense, Northeast Generals

McCarthy Reed earned the East Division Star of the Week after his two game performance combining for 3 points helping the Generals to a weekend sweep. The blue-liner added 1 assist in his first showing on the weekend, followed by a 2 point night with a goal and an assist. The Madison, WI native has totalled for 17 points with 3 goals and 14 assists in 14 games. 

2nd Star: Ryan Talorico, F, New Jersey Titans

Honorable Mention (alphabeticall): Brian Essing, F, Norwich Sea Captains – Jack Fitzpatrick, F, Long Beach Sharks – Caiden Hess, F, Northeast Generals – Kurt Johnson, F, New Jersey Titans – Jack Kinahan, F, Norwich Sea Captains

 

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Patric Loeffler, Goaltender, Sheridan Hawks

Sheridan Hawks netminder Patric Loeffler stood tall between the pipes earning two wins on the weekend. Loeffler turned away 98 of the 107 shots he faced, only allowing 5 goals in 2 games. He combined for a 4.50 GAA and a .916 SV%. The Rogers, MN native is 3-1 between the pipes this season and has combined for a 4.04 GAA and a .911 Sv%. 

2nd Star: Sky Solig, F, Gillette Wild

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Nick Bradshaw, F, Butte Cobras – Ben Cremers, F, Great Falls Americans – Braden Cunningham, F, Helena Bighorns – Silas Hughes, F, Great Falls Americans – Anthony Johnson, D, Butte Cobras – Ryan McKenna, F, Sheridan Hawks – Johan Palmqvist, D, Gillette Wild – TJ Norris, F, Helena Bighorns 


South Division Star of the Week: Hunter Hein, Goaltender, Texas RoadRunners

Hunter Hein helped lead the Texas RoadRunners to two wins on the weekend after stopping 79 of 83 shots and recording a shutout. Hein, a Phoenix, AZ native, combined for a 2.00 GAA and a .952 SV%. Hein allowed 4 goals on 43 shots, then turned around the post a 36 shot shutout the following night. This season, Hein is 6-0-0-2 while totalling a 1.17 GAA and a .965 SV%. 

2nd Star: John Moriarty, G, Louisiana Drillers

West Division Star of the Week: Matthew Ryyanen, Goaltender, Minnesota Loons

Minnesota Loons goaltender Matthew Ryyanen turned away 64 of the 69 shots on his way to earning two wins between the pipes. The Houghton, MI native combined for a 2.50 GAA and a .928 SV% between the two games. In his first appearance on the weekend, Ryyanen stopped 33 of 35 shots, and then in the following contest stopped 31 of 34. Ryynanen is 3-1-0-0 this season with a 3.13 GAA and .907 SV%

2nd Star: Brett Robinson, D, Granite City Lumberjacks
