NA3HL announces Bauer Hockey Stars of the Week

February 8, 2023

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending February 5, 2023. The Divisional Stars of the Week is an award given each week of the regular season to the top performing players in each of the five divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches. 

 

Central Division Star of the Week: Patrick Toomey, Forward, Milwaukee Power

Milwaukee forward Patrick Toomey compiled 7 points in two games to receive the Central Division Star of the Week. Toomey went 3-1-4 followed up by a 1-2-3 game to help propel the Power to a perfect week. The Ontario native has appeared in 39 games this season and leads the Power in scoring with 58 points, 29-29-58.

2nd Star: Adam Prokop, G, Milwaukee Power

East Division Star of the Week: Andrew Yocum, Goalie, Norwich Sea Captains

Andrew Yocum stopped 93 of the 98 shots he faced to post a 2-0-0-1 record for the week. The netminder compiled an impressive 1.63 GAA and a .949 SV%. The St. Louis, MO native has a 11-9-0-3 record this season with a 2.50 GAA and a .913 SV%.

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Jace Thompson, Forward, Great Falls Americans

Americans forward Jace Thompson earned the Frontier Division Star of the Week after scoring 5 goals over the week. After a silent night on the scoresheet, the Valley City, ND native netted 5 goals in a 7-4 win over Badlands. Thompson has appeared in 37 games this season where he has totalled 31 points.

South Division Star of the Week: Ben Mondou, Forward, Texas Brahmas 

Brahmas forward Ben Mondou totalled 4 points in one game to receive the South Division Star of the Week honors. Mondou netted a hat-trick and dished out a helper in the Brahams lone game of the week. This season the Texan has appeared in 31 games where he has totalled 48 points with 15 goals and 33 assists.

West Division Star of the Week: Kyle Mortenson, Defenseman, Granite City Lumberjacks

Kyle Mortenson continues to shine for the Lumberjacks after totaling 7 points in 3 games. The Wayzata, MN native added 2 goals and dished out 5 assists. Mortenson is tied for third place for scoring in the NA3HL amongst all defenders. This season Mortenson has played in 37 games with 42 points. 

2nd Star: Jack Whitmore, F, Alexandria Blizzard
