Rochester forward Klotz signs NAHL tender

The Rochester Grizzlies of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Spencer Klotz has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Anchorage Wolverines of the NAHL’s Midwest Division. 

Klotz, 20, just completed his first season in the NA3HL and appeared in 43 regular season games. The 6’1 179 lbs. forward tucked away 21 goals and dished 23 assists in those games, good for 44 points. Five out of those 21 goals in the regular season were game winning goals, one included in a four goal night against the Mason City Toros in early October. The Northfield, Minnesota native also played in five 2023 Fraser Cup Playoff games this season where he recorded three assists. 

In addition to his success in the NA3HL, Klotz also made three appearances in the North American Hockey League this season with the Minot Minotauros. He made his debut on the 6th of January against the St. Cloud Norsemen and recorded his first NAHL point 8 days later with an assist against the Aberdeen Wings. 

Prior to this season, Klotz played three years at his local Northfield High School. He also played for the Team TDS Transportation and MN Grey Ducks programs throughout his youth.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2023 NAHL Draft.
