Willmar forward Sibley makes NCAA commitment
The Willmar WarHawks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward Gunnar Sibley has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for New England College of the NEHC.
Sibley, 20, is a 5'11/180 lbs. native of Monticello, MN. He just completed his second season of junior hockey, both of which were spent with the WarHawks.
During the most recent 2022-23 season, Sibley recorded 29 points (15 goals, 14 assists) in 47 games played. He was also selected to and played in the 2023 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the West Division team.
Over the course of his two-year NA3HL career, Sibley recorded 37 points (16 goals, 21 assists) over 82 regular season games.
"Sibley was yet another WarHawk who bought into the process of advancing his game to the next level. Taking enormous strides in his speed and confidence in front of the net when already possessing such a solid defensive presence, translated him to a continuation of being a go to shutdown forward and in our penalty kill but also becoming 4th in goals scored and 5th overall in points for the WarHawks this season,” stated WarHawks General Manager Connor White. "We are very proud of Sibley's development. Thrilled to see his work and dedication pay off allowing him to advance to the next level.
