Grizzlies double up Lumberjacks on Thursday, 6-3
Rochester 6 @ Granite City 3 – Isaac Flatley scored twice and Riley Swanson made 32 saves as the Grizzlies went on the road and picked up the first-ever win for head coach Tyler Veen in a 6-3 win in Granite City on Thursday.
Rochester jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the 2nd period with goals from Flatley, Lennard Habeck, and Aiden Emerich, while Caleb Anderson scored for the Lumberjacks.
In the 3rd period, Granite City tried to mount a comeback with goals from Tommy Woods and Hayden Johnson, but again it was too much Grizzlies offense as they scored three more times including another goal from Flatley, one from Gavin Griffin, and one from John Schmidt. Matt Wolf also chipped in for Rochester with a pair of assists.
Granite City goalie Anyon Bennett made 16 saves in the loss.
