Saturday Scores: Bighorns sweep Wild in Frontier clash

Camden Cunningham had four goals in a weekend sweep of Gillette.

Gillette Wild 5 @ Helena Bighorns 6 (SO): After a long four periods the Helena Bighorns won in the shootout. In the first period Wyatt Schmitz scored for Gillette Wild making the score 1-0. In the second period Gillette Wild scored three more goals by Adam Severson, Payton Kor, and Isaac Young, and Helena Bighorns scored two goals by Ty Moore, and Trey Pareja making the score 4-2. In the third period the Helena Bighorns scored three goals, all three by Camden Cunningham giving him the only hat trick of the night, and one goal by Josef Lalli for the Gillette Wild making the score 5-5. In the Shootout the goal went to an unknown player on the Helena Bighorns making the score 6-5. Alex Lamont saved 17 shots in the win, while Cole Wheaton saved 31 shots in the loss.

El Paso Rhinos 2 @ New Mexico Ice Wolves 6: With a four point lead the win goes to New Mexico Ice Wolves.  In the first the New Mexico Ice Wolves scored three goals by Brady Nance, Carson Gotelaere, and Carson Pavlowich, and for the El Paso Rhinos scored two goals by David Tolan, and Michael Sobaski making the score 3-2. In the second the New Mexico Ice Wolves scored two more goals by Brady Nance, and Makoto Sudoh making the score 5-2. And the final goal scored in the third was by Rivers Ball with New Mexico Ice Wolves making the final score 6-2. Pierston Haislet saved 25 shots for the win, while Matt Loney saved 33 shots in the loss.

Norwich Sea Captains 5 @ New Jersey Titans 3: With a two point lead the win goes to Norwich Sea Captains. In the first the New Jersey Titans scored the first goal of the night by Maxim Mavrin making the score 1-0. But in the second the Norwich Sea Captains came back swinging with two goals of their own scored by Tyler Herrick, and Sava Makarenko, but the New Jersey Titans also came swinging with two goals of their own scored by Egor Sobolev, and Zane Mazzola making the score 3-2. In the third the Norwich Sea Captains scored three goals in the third by Brian Essing, Sava Makarenko, and Carson Dutcher making the final score 5-3.  Kevin MacDonald saved 27 shots for the win, while Jesse Riccio saved 31 shots in the loss.

Northeast Generals 2 @ Long Beach Sharks 0: With a two game win the winner is Northeast Generals. After a slow first period in the second Drew Vermette scored for the Northeast Generals making the score 1-0. In the third period Sean Gorman scored for the Northeast Generals, making the final score 2-0. Daniel Antal saved 14 shots for a shutout in the win, while Jackson Black saved 40 shots in the loss.

Wisconsin Woodsmen 2 @ Peoria Mustangs 1: With a one point lead the win goes to the Wisconsin Woodsmen. After a slow first period heading into the second the first goal of the night goes to Hunter Nelson with the Wisconsin Woodsmen making the score 1-0. Heading into the third both teams scored one goal for the Peoria Mustangs was Blake Mitchell, and for Wisconsin Woodsmen was Jackson Heim making the final score 2-1. Dixon Ehlers saved 27 shots for the win, while Mason West saved 39 shots in the loss.

Texas Brahmas 6 @ Austin Ice Bats 1: with a five point lead the win goes to the Texas Brahmas. In the first period Cameron Colberg scored for the Texas Brahmas making the score 1-0. In the second the Texas Brahmas scored three more goals scored two goals by Chase Forry, and one by Joey Croley, and one goal scored for the Austin Ice Bats scored by Jace Isselhard making the score 4-1. In the third the Texas Brahmas scored two more goals by Chase Forry scoring him the only hat trick of the night and Cameron Colberg making the final score 6-1. Brendan Forden saved 20 shots in the win, while Ari Burnside saved 37 shots in the loss.

Badlands Sabres 3 @ Great Falls Americans 1: With a two point lead the win goes to Badlands Sabres. In the first period the Great Falls Americans scored one goal by Dmitri Kuleshov making the score 1-0. In the second period the Badlands Sabres scored two goals by Aden Cobbs, and Ryan Jordan making the score 2-1. In the third period the Badlands Sabres scored one goal by Brooks Roaldson making the final score 3-1. Easton Eriksmoen saved 49 shots for the win, while Adler Hoagland saved 31 shots in the loss.

Bozeman Ice Dogs 10 @ Yellowstone Quake 0: With a ten goal lead the win goes to Bozeman Ice Dogs. In the first period the Bozeman Ice Dogs scored two goals by Andrew Kaunas, and Kody Wallenberg making the score 2-0. In the second period the Bozeman Ice Dogs scored four more goals scored by Joe Kline, Braden Koliha, Magnus Lowham, and Kody Wallenberg making the score 6-0. In the third the Bozeman Ice Dogs scored four goals by Chris Porciuncula, Westin Weisenburger, Mattias Godfrey, and Dylan Miller making the final score 10-0. Sean Smer saved 25 shots and Isaac Weatherford saved 13 shots for the shutout and for the win, while Roman Von Der Heide saved 55 shots in the loss.

Mason City Toros 4 @ Willmar WarHawks 1: With a three point lead the win goes to the Mason City Toros. In the period the Mason City Toros scored two goals by Jax Schauer, and Luke Robertson, and one goal scored for the Willmar WarHawks scored by Spencer Bergman making the score 2-1. After a slow second period heading into the third the Mason City Toros scored by Aaron Sawicki, and Jax Schauer making the final score 4-1. Drew Blake saved 36 shots for the win, while Beau Altman saved 33 shots in the loss.

Rochester Grizzlies 11 @ Minnesota Loons 2: With a nine goal lead the win goes to the Rochester Grizzlies. In the first period the Rochester Grizzlies scored three goals scored two by Maksim Lakic, and one goal by Lennard Habeck, and one goal scored for the Minnesota Loons by George Moore making the score 3-1. In the second the Rochester Grizzlies scored a whopping six goals scored by Matt Haun, Noah Joyce, Ty Petzke, Spencer Klotz, Andrew Bastian, and Leo Milan, and one goal for the Minnesota Loons scored by Josh Serino making the score 9-2. In the third period the Rochester Grizzlies scored two goals by Ty Petzke, and Cam Schneider making the final score 11-2. Riley Swanson saved 16 shots in the win, while Steven Kelley saved 30 shots and Alex Harden saved 19 shots in the loss.

Butte Irish 4 @ Sheridan Hawks 2:  With a two point lead the win goes to the Butte Irish. In the first period the Butte Irish scored two goals by Weston Villers, and Loghan Weber, and the Sheridan Hawks scored a goal by Brady Sisto making the score 2-1. Granite City Lumberjacks 1 @ West Bend Power 2: With a one goal lead the win goes to the West Bend Power. In the first period Liam Fraser scored for the West Bend Power making the score 1-0.
