Friday Finals: Wild hand Bighorns first loss of season

Joe Greniuk had two goals to help Granite City to their 5th straight win on Friday night.

Helena Bighorns 5 @ Gillette Wild 9: The Wild handed their rivals their first loss of the season in a 9-5 win at home. In the first period the Helena Bighorns scored a goal by Dylan Cunningham, and two goals for the Gillette Wild scored by Matt Siems, and Tay Kurpius making the score 2-1. In the second period the Helena Bighorns scored four more goals by Braden Cunningham, Gavin Barr, Dylan Cunningham, and Camden Cunningham, and three goals for the Gillette Wild two scored by Todd Powassin, and one by Josef Lalli making the score 5-5. In the third period the Gillette Wild scored four goals by Isaac Young, two by Elliot Testa, and one by Wylee Gladen making the final score 9-5. Cole Wheaton saved 39 shots for the win, while Alex Lamont saved 40 shots in the loss. 

Willmar War Hawks 1 @ Granite City Lumberjacks 5: Starting off the night with a slow first period heading into the second the Granite City Lumberjacks scored three goals two by Joe Greniuk, and one by Connor Miller, and one goal for the Willmar War Hawks scored by Zane Irion making the score 3-1. In the third period the Granite City Lumberjacks scored two more goals by Parker Comstock, and Nolan Widman making the final score 5-1. Sam Schowalter saved 25 shots for the win, while Jesse Easterwood saved 36 shots in the loss.

New Jersey Titans 3 @ Norwich Sea Captains 4 (OT): Starting off the night in the first period the New Jersey Titans scored three goals by Nicholas Trabb, and two by Payton Fobes making the score 3-0. In the second period the Norwich Sea Captains scored a goal by Skylar Bawcom making the score 3-1. In the third period the Norwich Sea Captains scored two more goals by Aidan Ready, and Blake Alexander tying the score 3-3. In overtime the Norwich Sea Captains scored by Brian Essing making the final score 4-3. Presley Patrin saved 11 shots for the win, while Jesse Riccio saved 26 shots in the loss.

Atlanta Capitals 4 @ Texas Brahmas 8: Starting of the night in the first period the Atlanta Capitals scored two goals both by Aidan Besedic, and three goals for the Texas Brahmas scored by Jake Malzone, Kaden Spaniol, and Joey Crowley making the score 3-2.
