Sunday Wrap-Up: Power sweep their way to 7th straight win

RoadRunners forward Porter Wolk had four goals in a 9-0 win on Sunday and nine points overall in a three-game weekend sweep.

West Bend Power 5 @ St. Louis Jr Blues 2: The 1st place West Bend Power widened their lead atop the Central Division thanks to their 7th straight win as they beat St. Louis, 5-2. In the first period West Bend Power scored a goal by Connor O’Neal making the score 1-0. In the second period, the West Bend Power scored three more goals by Jace Fitzgerald, Bryce Garber, and Andrew Butler, and two goals for the St. Louis Jr Blues scored by Connor Westbrock, and Daniel Sendobry making the score 4-2. In the third period, the West Bend Power scored a goal by Cole Fenske making the final score 5-2. Gavin Wohlmacher saved 29 shots for the win, while Jordan Behnen saved 41 shots in the loss.

Texas Road Runners 9 @ Mid Cities Jr Stars 0: The RoadRunners rolled to a three-game weekend sweep of the Stars thank to a 9-0 win. In the first period, the Texas Road Runners scored two goals both by Porter Wolk, making the score 2-0. In the second period, the Texas Road Runners scored seven goals by Cutter Daniel, two goals by Brayden Bibby, two goals scored by Porter Wolk giving him the only Texas Hat Trick of the night, one goal by JT Brugaletta, and Anthony Lipsky making the score 9-0. After a slow third period, the final score was 9-0. Jimmy Packee saved 18 shots for the win and shutout.

Texas Brahmas 3 @ El Paso Rhinos 2 (OT): The Brahmas salvaged one win in their three-game series thanks to a 3-2 overtime win on Sunday. In the first period the El Paso Rhinos scored a goal by Michael Sobaski making the score 1-0. In the second period, the Texas Brahmas scored two goals by Cameron Colberg, and Joey Crowley, and one goal for the El Paso Rhinos scored by Cameron Kim tying the score 2-2. After a slow third period, we head into overtime where Alex Cagan scores for the Texas Brahmas. Noah Van Herik saved 19 shots for the win, while Philip O’Neil saved 22 shots in the loss.
