Mountain Kings, Generals, Sea Captains win at East Showcase
New Hampshire and New Jersey battle in Game 1 of the NA3HL Showcase on Monday.
New Hampshire Jr Mountain Kings 4 vs. New Jersey Titans 2: In the first period both teams scored a goal for the New Jersey Titans it was Payton Fobes, and for the New Hampshire Jr Mountain Kings it was Tanner Anctil making the score 1-1. In the second period, the New Jersey Titans scored a goal by Zach Gershner, and the New Hampshire Jr Mountain Kings scored two goals by Tia Kontrec, and Jory Veenstra making the score 3-1. In the third period, the New Hampshire Jr Mountain Kings scored a goal by Jory Veenstra making the final score 4-2. Manny Pantow made 27 saves in the win.
Northeast Generals 6 @ Danbury Jr Hat Tricks 3: The Generals got off to a fast start as just seconds into the contest, Gabe Vijuk scored on a breakaway to put the Generals up 1-0. A rebound goal later in the period from Sean Gorman made it 2-0. Vijuk struck again on a breakaway in the 2nd period to make it 3-0. Danbury pulled to within 3-2 on goals from Aidan Anderson and Ronan McAllister, but it was too much Generals down the stretch as Vijuk scored to complete his hat-trick and Carson Zugec and Levente Pakozdi also found the back of the net. Lou Caulfield had Danbury’s third goal. Mike Foglia made 17 saves in the win, while Markus Paltauf made 48 saves in the loss.
Norwich Sea Captains 4 @ Long Beach Sharks 0: After a slow first and second period we head into the third period where the Norwich Sea Captains scored four goals by Chase Leivian, two by Brian Essing, and one by Sava Makarenko making the final score 4-0. Noah Behrens stopped all 18 shots that came his way for the shutout win, while Jackson Black saved 31 shots in the loss.
