Saturday Scores: Blizzard top rivals to run win streak to 9

New Mexico goalie Owen Zenone stopped 43 of 44 shots in a weekend road sweep of El Paso.

Granite City Lumberjacks 1 @ Alexandria Blizzard 2: The Blizzard won their 9th straight game thanks to a 2-1 win over rival Granite City. In the first period the Granite City Lumberjacks scored a goal by Justin Lesser, and one goal for the Alexandria Blizzard scored by Chris Fotopoulos making the score 1-1. In the second period, the Alexandria Blizzard scored a goal by Aiden Prochaska making the score 2-1. After a slow third period, the final score was 2-1. Nolan LaCosse saved 25 shots for the win, while Anyon Bennett saved 21 shots in the loss.  

New Mexico Ice Wolves 2 @ El Paso Rhinos 1: After a slow first period we headed into the second period, where the New Mexico Ice Wolves scored a goal by Trey Erramouspe, and one for the El Paso Rhinos scored by Nick Jones making the score 1-1. In the third period, the New Mexico Ice Wolves scored a goal by Brady Nance making the final score 2-1. Owen Zenone saved 20 shots for the win, while Philip O’Neil saved 23 shots in the loss.  

Peoria Mustangs 3 @ St Louis Jr Blues 1: In the first period the Peoria Mustangs scored a goal by Wyatt O’Donoghue, and one goal for the St Louis Jr Blues scored by Brodie Appelbaum making the score 1-1. After a slow second period, we headed into the third where the Peoria Mustangs scored two goals by Colin Cash, and Ronnie Turano making the final score 3-1. Travis Visvadra saved 44 shots for the win, while Matyas Bajgar saved 22 shots in the loss. 

Texas Brahmas 2 @ Mid Cities Jr Stars 3: In the first period the Mid Cities Jr Stars scored two goals by Nick Temple, and Andrew Kolka making the score 2-0. After a slow second period, we head into the third period where the Texas Brahmas score two goals by Sam Bailey and Chase Forry, and one goal for the Mid Cities Jr Stars scored by Wyatt Anderson making the final score 3-2. Kameron Ragon saved 47 shots for the win, while Luke Romney saved 16 shots in the loss. 

Minnesota Loons 3 @ Rochester Grizzlies 9: In the first period the Rochester Grizzlies scored six goals three by Wyatt Witham giving him a Hat Trick, and one by Noah Joyce, Andrew Bastian, and Luke Sawicky making the score 6-0. In the second period, the Minnesota Loons scored two goals by Broden Fawcett, and Anthony Launderville making the score 6-2. In the third period, the Rochester Grizzlies scored three goals by John Schmidt, Dre Berndt, and Luke Sawicky, and one goal for the Minnesota Loons scored by Christian Starr making the final score 9-3. Riley Swanson saved 12 shots for the win, while Alex Harden saved 9 shots and Steven Kelley saved 35 shots in the loss. 

Mason City Toros 9 @ Willmar WarHawks 8 (OT): In the first period the Mason City Toros scored three goals by Jax Schauer, Dominic Thomas, and Luke Robertson, and three goals for the Willmar WarHawks scored by Hudson Zinda, Gus Cantwell, and Nathan Hinze making the score 3-3. In the second period, the Willmar WarHawks scored three goals two by Hudson Zinda giving him a Hat Trick, and one by Brayden Buckingham, and two goals for the Mason City Toros scored by Jax Schauer, and Dominic Thomas making the score 6-5. In the third period, the Mason City Toros scored three goals by Brandon Hemmer, Luke Robertson, and Dominic Despenas, and two goals for the Willmar WarHawks scored by Gavin Simon, and Caleb Crouch making the score 8-8. In overtime, the Mason City Toros scored a goal by Brandon Hemmer making the final score 9-8. Devin Peck saved 26 shots for the win, while Kai Girard saved 44 shots in the loss.  

Wausau Cyclones 3 @ Oregon Tradesmen 4: In the first period the Wausau Cyclones scored three goals by Matthew Witt, Ricky Nelson, and Garrett Freel making the score 3-0. In the second period, the Oregon Tradesmen scored two goals by Reid Watson, and Jackson Vogel making the score 3-2. In the third period, the Oregon Tradesmen scored two goals by Niko Kempa, and Zak Molstad making the final score 4-3. Dylan Posch saved 7 shots and Tyler Fromolz saved 29 shots for the win, while Collin Lemanski saved 30 shots in the loss. 

West Bend Power 1 @ Wisconsin Woodsmen 3: In the first period the Wisconsin Woodsmen scored two goals by Viktor Budik, and Hunter Nelson, and one goal for the West Bend Power was scored by Bryce Garber making the score 2-1. After a slow second period, we headed into the third period, where the Wisconsin Woodsmen scored a goal by Nicholas O’Brien making the final score 3-1. Dixon Ehlers saved 17 shots for the win, while Brooks Barofsky saved 26 shots in the loss. 

Gillette Wild 4 @ Badlands Sabres 3 (SO): In the first period the Gillette Wild scored a goal by Elliot Testa making the score 1-0. In the second period, Badlands Sabres scored two goals by Alexander Petrotto, and Dylan Woolstenhulme, and one goal for the Gillette Wild scored by Matt Siems making the score 2-2. In the third period, the Badlands Sabres scored a goal by Zach Vockler, and one for the Gillette Wild scored by Will Sexton making the score 3-3. In the shootout, the goal goes to the Gillette Wild making the final score 4-3. Cole Wheaton saved 38 shots for the win, while Dawson Sellner saved 32 shots in the loss. 

Sheridan Hawks 9 @ Yellowstone Quake 1: In the first period the Sheridan Hawks scored three goals two by Mac Billings, and one by Tanner Freed, and one goal for the Yellowstone Quake scored by Leo Carter making the score 3-1. In the second period, the Sheridan Hawks scored three goals one by Vladyslav Zubiichuk, and two by Dillan Vallejo making the score 6-1. In the third period, the Sheridan Hawks scored three goals two by Daniil Viscu giving him a Texas Hat Trick, and one goal by Kaden Lansing making the final score 9-1. Joseph DaRosa saved 26 shots for the win, while Ben Delisi saved 50 shots and John Simon saved 25 shots in the loss. 

Helena Bighorns 10 @ Bozeman Ice Dogs 0: In the first period the Helena Bighorns scored a goal by Cai Robinson making the score 1-0. In the third period, the Helena Bighorns scored five goals by Jack Lambert, Finn Theriault, Ty Moore, Tim Mattingly, and Hunter Coulombe making the score 6-0. In the second period, the Butte Irish scored three goals two by Andrew Browe, and one by Brennen Morgan making the score 4-2. In the third period, the Butte Irish scored a goal by Patrick Cooks making the final score 5-2. Braylon Rogers saved 39 shots for the win, while Ryan Stowe saved 21 shots and Adler Hoagland saved 11 shots in the loss.
