NA3HL Announces Bauer Hockey Stars of the Week

DALLAS, TEXAS – The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending February 11th. The Divisional Stars of the Week is an award given each week of the regular season to the top performing players in each of the five divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches. 

Central Division Star of the Week: Ricky Nelson, Forward, Wausau Cyclones

Wausau forward Ricky Nelson had himself a weekend where he combined for seven points in two games. The Edina, MN native started the weekend off with a two assist night, then followed up with a five point game scoring four goals and dishing out an assist. Nelson has played in 37 games this season for the Cyclones where he has totalled 52 points.  

2nd Star: Ian Kangas, Goalie, West Bend Power

East Division Star of the Week: Glen Farmer, Forward, Norwich Sea Captains

Norwich forward Glen Farmer was fantastic for the Sea Captains totalling six points over three games. Farmer, a native of Raleigh, NC, had two big games against the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks. In his first showing against Danbury, Farmer added a goal and an assist, then followed up the next night by adding two goals and two assists. This season, Farmer has played in 39 games where he’s totalled 29 points. 

2nd Star: Mason Frary, F, Northeast Generals

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Matthew Ryynanen, Goalie, Bozeman Ice Dogs

Bozeman netminder Matthew Ryynanen picked up two crucial wins in the Frontier Division standings heading towards the end of the regular season. Ryynanen, a native of Houghton, MI, was strong between the pipes over a two game set against the Badlands Sabres. Ryynanen posted a 1.50 GAA and a .955 SV% after only allowing three goals off of 72 shots on net. Matthew holds a 18-11-0-1 record so far this season with a 3.42 GAA and a .903 SV%. 

2nd Star: Loghan Weber, F, Butte Irish 

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Mason Eggens, D, Helena Bighorns – Wylee Gladen, Forward, Gillette Wild – Dmitri Kuleshov, F, Great Falls Americans – Sebe Perez, F, Great Falls Americans – Cali Robinson, F, Helena Bighorns – Adam Severson, F, Gillette Wild – Weston Villers, D, Butte Irish 

 

South Division Star of the Week: Sebastian Thome, G, Louisiana Drillers

Drillers goaltender Sebastian Thome was fantastic for Lousianna over the weekend, picking up back-to-back wins against the Texas Brahmas. The Buffalo, NY netminder started the weekend off with a bang, stopping 29 shots in a 2-1 shootout victory. In the following game, Thome was red-hot in net, stopping 18 shots in the Drillers 2-1 overtime win. Thome holds a 7-2-0-1 record with a 2.68 GAA and a .904 SV%. 

2nd Star: Nick Jones, F, El Paso Rhinos

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Brad Camp, F, Atlanta Capitals – Alex Croy, G, Atlanta Capitals – Caleb Murray, F, Lone Star Brahmas – Arys Perardi, F, Austin Ice Bats – Luke Romney, G, Lone Star Brahmas – Trevor Stenglin, F, El Paso Rhinos – Gorial Yaro, G, Austin Ice Bats

 

West Division Star of the Week: Ryan Lehet, Goalie, Granite City Lumberjacks

Granite City goaltender Ryan Lehet played outstanding in back-to-back wins against the top ranked Rochester Grizzlies. The Seven Hills, OH native started off Friday with a 3-1 win, stopping 21 shots that was good for a 1.00 GAA and a .952 SV%. In the following contest, where the Lumberjacks won 8-1, Lehet stopped 25 shots for a 1.00 GAA and a .952 SV%. Lehet holds a 7-1 record in net for Granite City, along with a 1.93 GAA and a .923 SV%. 

2nd Star: Marcus Fritel, F, Mason City Toros
