NA3HL Weekend Preview

February 23, 2024

Just two weekends remain in the NA3HL regular season as division titles and the last few playoff spots are up for grabs this weekend.

In the Central, Wausau and West Bend are tied atop the standings but Wausau does have a game in hand and one more win than the Power which could come into play if they finish the season tied in points. Wausau hosts Wisconsin tonight but tomorrow they travel to West Bend for what could be called the division championship. Elsewhere, Peoria will take on the Tradesmen in Oregon while St. Louis will host the Woodsmen on Saturday and Sunday.

Out East, we could see things wrapped up this weekend regarding who will play who in the division semifinals. With a win this weekend, the Titans will be locked into the three seed and they will be destined for a date with the Sea Captains, so this weekend will most likely be a playoff preview. The Jr. Mountain Kings will end their weekend in Long Beach against the Sharks on Sunday. Danbury and Northeast will face off in a home-and-home this weekend.

In the Frontier Division, the division title is on the line as Helena visits Gillette. With just four games left, the Wild trail the Bighorns by five points. A sweep from Gillette will keep their first seed hopes alive heading into the final weekend of the season while a win from Helena will clinch their second straight regular season crown. We’ve also got a huge showdown between Great Falls and Badlands. The Sabres have a three point advantage for the final playoff spot over the Americans with three games head-to-head that will most likely determine who will be going to the playoffs. In other Frontier Division action, we’ve got Bozeman hosting Yellowstone and Sheridan going up against Butte.

In the South Division, El Paso with some wins and some help can clinch their playoff spot. Both the Brahmas and RoadRunners can also put themselves in a good spot to make the playoffs with favorable results this weekend. New Mexico will look to wrap up first place with a home series against Atlanta. El Paso will be in College Station to face the RoadRunners. The Brahmas and Stars battle in the heart of DFW while the Ice Bats will host Louisiana who need as many points as possible to keep their playoff hopes alive.

In the West, we’ve got our four playoff participants seeding is still to be determined. Rochester faces Alexandria tonight while Mason City and Granite City will renew their rivalry in Sauk Rapids. Rochester holds a one point lead over Granite City for first place in the West as they try to win the division crown in their first season back in the West Division.
