Saints come marching for Outlaws' Moss

March 19, 2008

The North Iowa Outlaws have announced that second-year goaltender Robby Moss has committed to St. Lawrence University (ECACHL) for next season.

Moss, from St. Louis, holds a 26-6-4 record in 38 appearances this season and leads all NAHL goaltenders with a 1.92 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage.

“The coaches were straight forward with me,” Moss said of his decision to attend the Canton, N.Y., school. “They said they were going to do something and they did so I respect that a lot.  On my visit, things were handled in a professional matter, and with the way they treated me, I knew it was the right choice.”

“We couldn’t be happier for Robby,” said Outlaws coach Dave Boitz. “St. Lawrence is getting a great kid, an outstanding player and a all-around hard-working player. His college hockey career is going to be one to watch.”

The 20-year-old Moss, a NAHL Top Prospects Tournament participant, has missed 10 games this season on two separate occasions with injuries.

“Robby persevered through two freak injuries and never missed a beat,” Boitz said. “When he was out, he worked hard on his rehab and was ready and focused so when the time came to get back in the game.”

“My main goal for the year was to win a national championship, be a top goalie in the league and get a college scholarship,” Moss added. “It feels unbelievable that I accomplished two of them, and now I can put all my focus on the ultimate team goal.”
