Bobcats sign two more to tenders

May 19, 2008

The Bismarck Bobcats have announced the signing of two more tenders in Jason Fabian and Tony Turgeon.

Fabian, the younger brother of former University of North Dakota standout Erik Fabian, skated for the Roseau (Minn.) Rams this past season netting 13 goals for 30 points in 31 games.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound forward is a nice addition to the Bobcats’ offense.

“Jason comes from a hockey family,” said Bobcats head coach Byron Pool.  “He competes hard, he has good puck skills and above average hockey sense. He’ll be an exciting player to watch when he fills out his frame.”

Bismarck is also putting more size on the defensive end for the upcoming season with the signing of Turgeon. The Ashland, Wis., product stands 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 225 pounds.

Turgeon comes from the Madison Capitals’ Midget AAA program and is expected to use his size to his advantage in the North American Hockey League.

“Tony will be a good player for us,” said Pool.  “He’s a big body that puts out a physical presence on the backend. He skates well and makes smart decisions with the puck.

“Tony has a tremendous upside and we expect him to be an impact player.”
