Steel alum Slagle makes NCAA plans
The Twin City Steel, proud members of the North American 3 Hockey League (3HL) are proud to announce that former defenseman Adam Slagle will take his gifted talents and academics to the University of Wisconsin-Stout where he will play NCAA Division III hockey for the Blue Devils this season. Stout is a NCAA Division III hockey team part of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA).
Steel head coach Aaron Slagle, the older brother to Adam, remarked... “Adam is well deserving of this. Being his older brother and coach last season, it was the adjustment from brother to coach that we both needed to understand early on. Adam handled the situation very well and knew me being his coach would not change the work and time factor he had to put in. He exhibited a lot of pride in the development of team and himself last year. He was a great leader on and off the ice. It's rewarding for all involved to learn of this news officially. He will be a great addition to Stout's hockey program and will represent the Twin City Steel and the NA3HL proudly."
“None of this would have been possible without the support of my family and teammates over the years. I would like to thank the the Steel organization, coach Slagle, my dad Chuck, my mom Keri, Step dad Tim, step mom Kristine, my grandpa and grandma Roy and Cathy Ward, my grandpa and grandma Frank and Dianne Slagle, and my uncle Troy Ward," said Adam Slagle. "Thank you for all your support the last 18 years of my hockey career. I'm pumped for the new level of play and opportunity I have.”
The Steel family would like to say... A job well done Adam, work hard, be successful on the ice and in the classroom. The building blocks for a great Steel tradition of moving players on in their careers is being realized through you. Congratulations and good luck with your college hockey career.
