Hartmann off to Bemidji State
The Topeka RoadRunners have announced that second-year forward Matt Hartmann has committed to Bemidji State University (CHA) for next season.
After 17 games this year, the 19-year-old from Hugo, Minn., has nine goals for 20 points. He is also a plus-8.
“Matt’s hardworking style has paid off and obviously hasn't gone unnoticed with the scouts,” said RoadRunners head coach Scott Langer. “He has been a pleasure to coach and has proven himself to be a top-tier captain.
“Matt's dream has been to play at Bemidji and I'm very happy to see that dream come true.”
In 2007-08, Hartmann totaled 37 points in 20 goals in 55 regular-season games for the South Division champion RoadRunners.
“Matt is a player that personifies Beaver Hockey,” said Bemidji State head coach Tom Serratore. “He competes hard and has a well-rounded skill set.
“We feel he can play in all situations and has outstanding leadership qualities. We’re ecstatic to have him part of the Beaver hockey family.”
