Gonshow Flow of the Month winners for November announced

December 1, 2012

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) announced its Gongshow Flow of the Month winners for November 2012.  This month awards go to NA3HL player Joey Garapolo, a goaltender for the Twin City Steel and Peter Coppola, a forward for the Quad City Jr. Flames.

Honorable Mentions went to (alphabetical): DJ Vold, Granite City Lumberjacks – Kyle Whipple, Breezy Point North Stars.

Players in November were not only judged by their flows, but also by their mo’s.  Gongshow and the NA3HL teamed up for their ‘Movember’ campaign, as NA3HL coaches, staff and players supported Men’s health and cancer awareness by growing all kinds of mustaches.  Players and fans were not only encouraged to submit their best ‘flows’ at the end of the month, but also their best ‘mo’s’ to show off their mustaches in support of the NA3HL’s Movember campaign.

Garapolo, who is a 19-year-old goaltender from Libertyville, Illinois, has appeared in six games so far for the Steel this season.  His flow and mo in the month of November was epic.  His baseball cap clearly accentuates his sick flow, which is spilling out the side so much so that it is starting to curl upward.  In addition to that is his mustache, which we like to call the ‘General Lee.’   It starts on the sideburns, goes down the side of the face to the bottom of the chin, then upward across the top lip.  We will see if Garapolo decides to keep it in December as it may start to interfere with his goalie mask if it gets any bigger.

The other award for November went to Peter Coppola, a 20-year-old forward from La Crosse, Wisconsin.  Coppola’s hair has been nice and long since the start of the season and no doubt, requires constant maintenance and shampooing because of its full-bodiness.  However, Coppola took it a step further in November with the addition of a chin strap beard that ran down the sides of his face and under his chin.  He topped it off with a noticeable, but pencil thin mustache.  It must have helped as Coppola is Quad City’s second leading scorer with 11 points this season.

During the month of December, there is no better way to ring in the holidays that with a good flow.  A nice flow during the month of December is a great compliment to ugly Christmas/Holiday sweater parties, opening presents, visiting Santa Claus or ringing in the New Year.  All those submitting pictures are encouraged to do so while wearing their ugliest Christmas/Holiday sweater for bonus points and special consideration.

To enter the contest for the month of December, submit your best #Flow of the Month pictures by December 31st to @NA3HL and @GongshowGear. Two winners will be selected on January 1st.  Winners will receive a Gongshow Gear hat.

Gongshow is the exclusive sponsor of the Flow of the Month promotion exclusively on the NA3HL and Gongshow Twitter sites.  Fans and players alike are encouraged to submit photos of their best ‘hockey hair’ or ‘flow’ via Twitter by the end of every month during the regular season.
