Cincinnati Swords 3 @ Chicago Jr. Bulldogs 6: The Chicago Jr. Bulldogs took advantage of the special teams opportunities scoring two power play goals and a shorthanded marker to beat the Cincinnati Swords 6-3. Isaac Lamb and Tyler Dalton both scored a goal and an assist for the Jr. Bulldogs. The Swords came out with a quick goal forty-three seconds into the games from Thomas Clayton but two goals from Dalton and Anthony Palermo gave the Bulldogs the lead after the first. The Bulldogs scored three tallies to bust open the game and it was left to Michael Paku to close out the game as he saved 52 Cincinnati shots for the win. Boxscore

Michigan Mountain Cats 0 @ Pittsburgh Vengeance 5: Six Pittsburgh players had multi-point games as the Vengeance defeated the visiting Michigan Mountain Cats by a score of 5-0. The Vengeance took advantage of the Mountain Cats penalties as they converted on four of five power plays with Cody Black picking up a pair. Kevin O’Shea was overmatched by the power play of the Vengeance but still managed a respectable 31 saves on the night. On the opposite end of the ice Chase Stanford was perfect in net stopping all 20 Michigan shots. Boxscore

St. Louis Jr. Blues 4 @ Peoria Mustangs 1: The St. Louis Jr. Blues picked up a 4-1 win over the Peoria Mustangs behind a two point night from Tommy Heinzman to add to a an already tight early Central division race. Billy Hindle is continuing his hot streak in the crease picking up his fourth consecutive win stopping 24 Peoria shots on the night. Hindles shutout bid was broken late in the third period from a goal by Peoria forward Andrew Scofield with just under four minutes to go. The Jr. Blues picked up two goals in the first five minutes of the first period from Samuel Maddox and Andrew McGlynn to give them the lead for the duration of the contest. Boxscore

Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 4 @ Toledo Cherokee 2: Tyler Jansen stopped 29 Cherokee Shots and Jared Johnson added on to his league leading point total as the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks beat the Toledo Cherokee 4-2. Cleveland picked up their third straight win as four different Lumberjacks tallied goals on the night. Jared Johnson picked up a goal and added an assist to bring his total to 23 points on the season. Tyler Zalecki scored both Toledo goals breaking a three game pointless streak for the 18 year old forward. Tyler Jansen picked up a win in his third straight start and his fifth start of 29 saves or more. Boxscore

Wisconsin Whalers 3 @ Alexandria Blizzard 5: The Alexandria Blizzard finished the home sweep of the visiting Wisconsin Whalers as they rode three first period goals to a 5-3 victory. Tyler Sworsky and Ian Ecklund scored and Nate Mettenburg added a power play tally to give the Blizzard a quick three-goal lead to open the game. The Whalers brought it to within one until the last frame when Mettenburg added his second goal of the night on the man advantage. Evan Misek stopped 25 Whalers shots to claim the victory. Boxscore

North Iowa Bulls 5 @ Breezy Point North Stars 0: Richie Marenis added three points to his hot start on the season to give the North Iowa Bulls their sixth straight win to open the season. Marenis, a 20-year old forward from Latvia, scored just fifteen seconds into the game on Breezy Point goaltender Matt Memolo to give the Bulls all the offense they would need for the night. North Iowa goaltender Chris Amsden stopped 32 North Star shots to record his first shutout of the season. Memolo was busy in the North Stars crease stopping 42 of 47 North Iowa shots. Boxscore

Sugar Land Imperials 2 @ Dallas Jr. Stars 5: The Dallas Jr. Stars picked up the victory over the Sugar Land Imperials 5-2 to split the weekend series. Chris Mallon made 30 saves and three Jr. Stars tallied two points to defeat the Imperials. The two teams have started a competitive rivalry since the beginning of both their inaugural seasons. The teams have split both weekend series they have played so far. The Jr. Stars were led by 20-year old defenseman Ben Owen, who added two assists on the night. Owen was called up earlier in the season to play games with the NAHL Lone Star Brahmas. Luke Simon scored a goal and an assist for the Imperials bringing his season total to five points in four games. Boxscore

Granite City Lumberjacks 3 @ Twin City Steel 0: Austin Wilson recorded his first shutout of the season as he backstopped the Granite City Lumberjacks to a 3-0 victory over the Twin City Steel. Wilson, the 19-year-old Michigan native, has started strong on the season posting 1.60 goals against average in his first five starts. All of the Lumberjacks offense came in the middle frame as Zach Voss tallied two of the three markers. Twin City goaltender Thomas Terrance stopped 39 shots in the loss, which is a new high for him in the young season. Boxscore

Flint Junior Generals 7 @ Metro Jets 4: The Flint Junior Generals used a four goal-opening period and Anders Franke had a relatively easy night stopping only 17 shots as the Junior Generals cruised to a 7-4 win over the Metro Jets. Flint opened the game strong with four goals from four different Junior Generals including the first of three for a hat trick in his first game of the season. The Metro Jets made a late run scoring two third period goals but couldn’t quite mount a comeback versus a Flint squad that has yet to lose in regulation during the first 12 games. Kevin Shand had a good offensive night for the Jets scoring a goal and adding two assists. Boxscore
