Klebe gets call to the NAHL

December 4, 2013
The Flint Junior Generals, proud members of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are pleased to announce that goaltender Nate Klebe, 19, has been called up to the North American Hockey League (NAHL) by the Soo Eagles.

The Eagles recently sustained injuries to both of their goaltenders and upon learning that news head coach Bruno Bragagnolo was in attendance at the NA3HL Showcase in Romeoville less than two weeks ago to search for a potential replacement and he found one in Klebe, who currently is statistically the top goaltender in the NA3HL.

Klebe is coming off another good month in November, which followed up his torrid October in which he was named the NA3HL Goaltender of the Month. Through he play thus far, he could arguably be one of the early surprises and candidates for Rookie of the Year thanks his first three months of the year.

The native of South Lyon, Michigan leads the NA3HL in goals against average (1.43), save percentage (94.0%) and shutouts (3). He also put together outstanding 10-0-1 record to date.

“Nathan has been a big and pleasant surprise for our team this season,” said Flint head coach Steve Howard. “He certainly hasn’t played like a rookie. We have two #1’s in goal right now, which is one of the reasons we are having the success as a team to date.”

Klebe is the fourth Flint player this season to get the call to the NAHL. Klebe is one of the more than 30+ NA3HL alumni currently playing in the NAHL this season.
